I need a program, free or not, that would be a good starter program for learning the basics of computer graphics. Thanks in advance!
Swift 3d. that is how I learned. When I wanted to start 3d I didn’t have the slightest idea on how to create 3d but thanks to the easy to use 3d program I learned the basics and just a little more. They even offer free step by step tutorials. try the free version it’s fully functional and doesn’t expire, if you like it then you can buy it. the only thing the trial version keeps you from doing is exporting your work. Other than that it’s fully functional.
I want to learn ABC of computer.
Go to Google, and type in whatever you want to know about today – presto, thousands of pages of information! For instance, type “word processing” or “using windows” or whatever it is you want to know. Computing is too vast a subject to cram into one site, and any one site that tries to do it will almost certainly fall short of expectations.
Rawlyn.
I want to take an AP computer programming class at my school, but I would like to learn the basics of essentially how computers work. I want to know like how to effectively write/ read script and use the command prompt. Really anything that you think would be useful. If there is a good informative website you could give me that would be great. Thanks a ton.
You totally have the wrong idea of a computer course. You will be doing stuff like this all year:
public class Demo
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
for(int n=0; n<=10; n++)
System.out.println(“Hello, even though I already said it “+n+” times!”);
}
}
You make cool programs such as that. The best thing to do is download either eclipse or textpad (IDEs) beforehand and get used to programming with those. Get a java book at your local library and read the first five chapters. (Up until where you are very familiar with loops and arrays)
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW HOW A COMPUTER WORKS
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE COMMAND PROMPT (if you have the IDE)
youtube.com can teach you everything with videos. Just search for whatever you want to learn and they have oddles. Another great site is ehow.com they have zillions that show you how to do everything. And it costs nothing. If you open each program file in the start menu you will get a feel for what they are and what they do. ANY program that you open will not change unless you start clicking. As long as you just look nothing changes. Then you can go to these sites (I’d try ehow first) Just search for the Program that you are trying to learn. You don’t have to be a member and I have learned how to do just about everything from braiding hair to information for my company and everything in between. The help menu that each program has at the top of the page in the tool bar is always great for just looking up how to do one thing. I haven’t found any cheap software for it – but DON’T be fooled into buying that computer professor stuff on TV. They take your credit card and repeatedly charge your card for things they ship every two weeks. And when you try to return they say they never received it.
I want to get something for my mom to help her learn her way around on a computer. She is very timid about it and knows hardly anything. I need something that will teach at the very basic level… for someone who doesn’t know what the “desktop” is or where the “start button” is or how to highlight text. My mom is very smart, she just has basically no experience with computers. Someone please is there a good software to start her out? Thanks.
You can buy CD-ROM based teaching software for most packages and OS’s. Professor Teaches is one such system

A computer is like math. You will need to “use” it to learn and retain everything about a computer.
I’m going to teach computer basics to a group of around 13 years old orphan childs. They don’t know anything about computer… Anybody can recomend me an ebook(free), reference or something similar to guid me how to start and what should I cover? I need a ebook which I can find for free on the internet or any other reference!
Thanks in advance.

I am looking for a computer and I will like to know the basics about computer. What are some important things to look for when buying a computer and what 2.40 GHz means.
I will be using it for games and i need at least 3.40 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 256 MB NVIDIA 6800 / ATI Radeon X800 on the video card and DirectX video card, and a high level working computer.
When looking for a computer, you want to know what you need or want first. Desktop (stationary, more powerful, cheaper) or Laptop (portable, more expensive) ? Will you be playing games, watching movies, listening to music, word processing, internet browsing, etc.? If you do not plan on playing games or watching videos on your computer, the cheapest system currently on the market is more than enough for you. 2.40GHz represents the frequency of the processor, sometimes known as clock speed. The processor is the internal computing system which processes everything you ask the computer to do. The more GHz, the better. Also, Dual Core is better than a Single Core, and Quad Core is better than Dual Core. A dual core, or quad core simply has more than one processor, therefore it can process multiple tasks at one time.
Important things to look for:
RAM – Random Access Memory –
Listed in GB (Gigabytes) – This is the working memory. The more the better. Try not to get any less than 2 GB, especially is the computer is running Microsoft Vista.
HDD – Hard Disk Drive -
Also listed in GB. This is not very important, unless you plan to store a lot of music of videos. Anything more than 100GB is plenty. Most desktops come with at least 200GB, while most laptops come with at least 120GB.
